Get Your License with Montrose DrivING Education

The six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction is required by the State of Colorado if you want to upgrade to a license before turning 16 1/2.  We offer the six hours behind-the-wheel driving instruction in three 2-hour private lessons.  We provide a certified training vehicle that has instructor controls to help teach your student in a safe manner.

Behind-the-wheel instruction consists of city, residential, mountain, highway and county driving. We include as part of the instruction, angled, perpendicular and parallel parking. Three point turns, U-turns and various other driveway turnarounds are also taught. We also practice lane changes, left and right turns, backing and steering with students. Focus on legal stopping points, right of way, and visual search patterns and the IPDE process will be practiced in an attempt to make your student an aware safe driver.

To make scheduling easy for parents and students, we use the scheduling website Schedule2Drive.com to book all behind-the-wheel sessions. You will need to build an account using your students permit information and our school code, 9745 to start the process.  Once that has been completed an email is sent to us and we compile the necessary state paperwork to activate your account.  Please be patient, as this process sometimes can take a few days to a week to complete. 

Once your account has been activated you will be able log on and look at a calendar of dates to schedule sessions that work for your schedule.

The six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction is offered to the general public; however, it is offered at a discount to students who take one of our classroom courses or complete our online course.
