How to Get Your License at 16
- Only get
Drivers Education Permit at age 15 if:
- Complete approved Drivers Education Course
- Earn an 80% or better on written test to obtain a Driver Education Permit at age 15
- Complete 6 hour Behind the Wheel Training with certified instructor
- Hold Drivers Education Permit for 12 months
- Log 50 hours of driving with someone 21 years or older (with valid
drivers license)
- 40 hours of daytime driving
- 10 hours of nighttime driving
- Pass a driving test with approved 3rd party tester or Drivers License Office
Get Your License at 16 ½
- Only get Drivers Awareness Permit at age 15 ½ if:
- Complete approved Drivers Education Course
- 4 hour Drivers Awareness Class "DDC-4 Class"
- 30 hour Classroom Course "Must do 6 hour BTW with this course"
- Home study Course Behind the Wheel
- Earn an 80% or better on written test to obtain a Driver Awareness Permit at age 15 1/2
- Hold Drivers Awareness Permit for 12 months
- Log 50 hours of driving with someone 21 years or older (with valid
drivers license)
- 40 hours of daytime driving
- 10 hours of nighttime driving
- Pass a driving test with approved 3rd party tester or Drivers License Office
How to Get Your License at 17
- Earn an 80% or better on written test to obtain a Minor Instruction Permit at age 16
- Hold Minor Instruction Permit for 12 months
- Log 50 hours of driving with someone 21 years or older (with valid
drivers license)
- 40 hours of daytime driving
- 10 hours of nighttime driving
- Pass a driving test with approved 3rd party tester or Drivers License Office
